Brooklyn Flea Plans To Stay In Industry City During The Summer

The popular flea and food market took over space in Industry City for the winter but plans to stay throughout the summer, organizers said.

SUNSET PARK, NY — Brooklyn Flea, which decamped to Industry City during the winter, plans to remain at the site this summer after it was kicked out of its Williamsburg spot last year, organizers announced.

The popular flea and food market plans to open an indoor and outdoor space at Industry City on April 7, taking over a public courtyard between Buildings 1 and 2 in the Sunset Park campus every Saturday.

The flea will also continue their Sunday market at the Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge at 80 Pearl St. in DUMBO for their third year starting on April 8, organizers said.

"After a year of evolving venues, the Flea has landed in long-term stable homes," organizers said in a statement.

Brooklyn Flea opened ten years ago in Fort Greene but moved the popular market to Williamsburg's East River State Park in 2017 with Smorgasburg. The location was short-lived with organizers putting the Saturday market on hiatus a month later after residents complained of overcrowding in the park.

The DUMBO and Industry City summer markets will be open from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. until October, organizers said. The Industry City space will switch to an all-indoor winter spot for the second year in a row on Saturdays and Sundays starting in November.
