Crime Way Up in Sunset Park, Windsor Terrace: Cops to Address Community Concerns
Major crimes are collectively up nearly 20 percent in the precinct this year.

WINDSOR TERRACE, BROOKLYN — Major crime has gone down this year in both New York City and Brooklyn, but that's not true for the 72nd Precinct, which patrols Sunset Park, South Slope and Windsor Terrace.
Through July 10, major crime in the precinct was up more than 19 percent compared to the same period last year.
While the NYPD won't host another Community Council meeting until September, there will be a special community meeting in Windsor Terrace on July 23 hosted by local officer Daniel McGrath.

The meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Hall at Holy Name Church, located at 245 Prospect Park West.
Patch has reached out multiple times to the police department asking to speak with Captain Emmanuel Gonzalez, who leads the 72nd. So far, we've only been told that Gonzales "is not available" to meet.

The precinct's crime trends aren't distributed equally. In short (and with a few exceptions) there's much more crime in Sunset Park than in Windsor Terrace.
