- Sunset Park, Industry City, South Slope and other local neighborhoods were added back into the city's restarting of its curbside compost pickup program, after a prolonged pandemic pause. The area was chosen for the program based on a high amount of community interest. Composting includes all plant-based food scraps, as well as egg shells. (City Limits)
- Milano Market, a family-owned meat emporium, opened its first shop in Brooklyn in Bay Ridge, at 78th and 3rd Avenue. The opening celebration was attended by the likes of Councilman Justin Brannan — and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. (Brooklyn Paper)
- Sunset Park's Industry City is apparently dolling out leases to businesses both small and large "like crazy." The business leaders of the commercial and manufacturing complex say they are excited to work with Mayor Adams, and to continue developing more job opportunities. (New York Post )
- The MTA announced it's planning to pilot a weekly fare-capping program in March. The plan means that after transit riders using OMNY take 12 trips — adding up to $33 — all subsequent train or bus rides for the rest of the week will be free. (amNY)
