- NYU Langone Hospital in Sunset Park received a $166 million grant from the Bezos family, which it is planning to use to help "address social determinants of health and key drivers of health inequities." (NYU Langone Health)
- After 56 years two men who were wrongly convicted of murdering Malcolm X were exonerated and had their cases thrown out. A third man, however, Mujahid Abdul Halim, who confessed to being the real killer, had been released on bail back in 2010. Halim, 80, now lives quietly in Sunset Park. (The New York Times)
- Manhattan's Chinatown got a new food court in the location previously occupied by Joy Luck Palace on Mott Street. It's the first of it's kind there. (Gothamist)
