SUNSET PARK, NY — Police are searching for a man who strolled into the common area hallway of a low-rise apartment building without permission and took off with an electric bike that belonged to one of the residents, according to police.

The theft took place before 2 p.m. on Tuesday at an apartment complex located at the corner of 42 Street and 12th Avenue in Borough Park, according to police. Authorities said the bike is worth approximately $1,100.

No one was injured at the apartment building. The suspect fled the scene, but police were not able to determine which direction he went.
