Sunset Park Business Wins 'Greenest Storefront' Award
The award was part of a series of green awards given out by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A Sunset Park business won an award for being Brooklyn's "Greenest Storefront" for 2017.
Pro 1 Tire on 27th Street got the designation from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, which does an annual "green" survey of the borough.
The 27th Street Block Association entered the Sunset Park tire store into the contest, the winners of which were announced Monday.

The much-coveted "Greenest Block In Brooklyn" award was given to a street in Bed-Stuy.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has been doling out its green thumbed accolades for the past 23 years, recognizing blocks with the most colorful flowers, the widest variety of plants, the best kept trees and most environmentally-friendly residents, said the group.

"As always, the competition was fierce but very friendly," said Scot Medbury, president of the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, noting there were more than 150 applications in 2017. "We're very proud."
