Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Sunset Park residents and community groups are concerned by the concentration of "last mile" delivery facilities in their neighborhood, which they say are paramount to "environmental racism." More and more warehouses are cropping up across the city, thanks to the increased demand for e-commerce, and they are largely unregulated. (THE CITY)
  2. Mayor de Blasio announced on Wednesday plans to create a "blue highway," investing $38 million into increased shipping through the city's waterways and therefore decreasing the amount of trucks on the streets. That investment could likely have an impact on Sunset Park, which is already close to large Brooklyn shipping ports. (NYC Patch)
  3. New York City's tourism agency is spotlighting Asian-American neighborhoods across the five boroughs with a series of interactive guides. Here's the guide for Sunset Park, that includes lots of restaurants and cafés, mainly along 8th Avenue. (nycgo.com)
