Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

1. On Wednesday, 18 MTA workers were commended by Gov. Kathy Hochul and Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chair and CEO Janno Lieber for their life-saving actions responding to the shooting at the 36 St. station on Tuesday, April 12. This was the first time that a sitting governor attended a MTA Board meeting. (governor.ny.gov)
2. According to Colliers, a global commercial real estate firm, the New York City industrial real estate market outside Manhattan showed “healthy growth” during the first quarter of 2022. Sunset Park was highest on the list, stating that much of the activity in Brooklyn was centered around the Sunset Park area (Industry City). (Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
3. The Open Streets program was launched following the onset of the pandemic and has continued to expand. An additional 10 car-free Open Streets were announced in Brooklyn, bringing the total to 47. (Brooklyn Paper)
