Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Have you seen Glennis Andrew? She has been missing from her East New York, Brooklyn home since June 6. Glennis Andrew, 68, was last seen leaving her home on East New York Avenue early that morning. Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's crime hotline at call the NYPD at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). (Patch)
  2. The US Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers at the FDNY’s academy on Randall’s Island provided, "specific training on an active shooter in a subway,” to a dozen NYPD members. There are plans to expand the program to reach more police officers later this year. (New York Post )
  3. Construction has begun in Downtown Brooklyn in the Alloy Block multi-tower development. The 44-story building, located at 100 Flatbush Ave, will feature 441 residential units. (New York YIMBY)
  4. With the second Manhattan station scheduled to open later this year, the MTA’s plan to end of direct service between Long Island and Brooklyn and of scheduled transfers at Jamaica. So, how are Long Island LIRR commuters supposed to get to Brooklyn and Manhattan for work? (Subscription: Newsday)
