Here are the top stories in Sunset Park today:
- Frank James, the man initially named only as a “person of interest” in Tuesday’s rush hour subway shooting that left 23 injured, has been captured. (Patch)
- Gun violence in the East Flatbush neighborhood has left residents uneasy. The death of 12-year-old Kade Lewin marked the seventh murder in the 67th precinct, compared to only two at this time last year. (Subscription: Daily News)
- Rash Bar is now closed after being set on fire. A Bushwick bar that was becoming a popular venue for the LGBTQ+ community in Brooklyn is now gone. Someone was seen entering the bar dressed in black before dousing the ground with gasoline, setting it on fire, and then fleeing. A photo on a GoFundMe page started by the bar showed a wall partially down with brick exposed presumably from damage caused by the fire. (Fox 5)
