- Freelancers Union, the nonprofit which advocates for independent workers’ benefits, closed on a deal to open a 4,413-square-foot headquarters and coworking space for its members at the 6 million-square-foot Industry City (IC) campus in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. (Commercial Observer)

- Police are seeking help from the public to find the alleged attacker of a 63-year-old man who watched the suspect play a video slot machine. After the victim stepped away, the suspect used a knife to slash the man in his left forearm. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. The incident took place in Sunset Park, inside a basement along 54th Street near Eighth Avenue at around 4 p.m. Submit tips to police by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). (PIX11)
- Sunset Park has a new tenant, City Harvest, the food-rescue nonprofit that helps to feed 1.5 million needy New Yorkers a year. As it moves to Brooklyn, City Harvest honors world-renowned chef Eric Ripert and his wife, Sandra for their 25-year involvement in the organization. (New York Post)
