Consider looking around at a local adoption agency, if you're a cat person, meet the majestic Horus, a domestic short hair up for adoption. Or you may consider fostering.   3. DSNY is accepting applications for the grants at publicspace@dsny.nyc.gov until April 22. For details, see here. Winners will be selected by May 20. You may be eligible of a grant worth $20,000 for projects that help improve waste management in business districts. This is part of the “Clean Curbs” pilot program which encourages businesses to use trash containers instead of putting their trash out on the sidewalk. (Streetsblog)
  4. Detectives are searching for a suspect responsible for a deadly shooting in a Crown Heights apartment building lobby. At about 1 a.m. on April 9, two men were shot at 1144 Bergen St., leaving 38-year-old Kevin Alves dead, and another victim injured. Police have been unable to obtain a description of the suspect, as the investigation remains ongoing. (AMNY)
  5. The Mayor's Office released information on Mayor Eric Adams first 100 days in office. In a lengthy press release the Mayor outlined programs and initiatives like Subway Safety Plan, Blueprint to End Gun Violence, Rebuild, Renew, Reinvent and development of the Made in NY campus at Bush Terminal in Sunset Park as part of his promise to ‘Get Stuff Done.’ (nyc.gov)
