Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Some Brooklyn bars have been focusing on organic, sustainable and biodynamic wines, including bars like Judy’s in Sunset Park. The process for making organic wines is an old one but was not heavily marketed or certified. Organic means minimal chemical intervention during the fermentation process; we can all use less chemicals in our bodies and the wine tastes is pretty good and let's not forget, healthier! (Brooklyn Reader)
  2. A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit at a Brownsville intersection on Tuesday morning. They were struck near Rutland Road and East 95th Street at around 10:22 a.m. and were rushed to Maimonides Medical Center. The FDNY was unable to clarify the person's condition following the accident. (Patch)
  3. Brooklyn has topped the city's boroughs in construction site violations over the past year. According to the Department of Buildings' Construction Safety Report, city inspectors issued 26,255 safety violations in 2021, up from 23,916 the year prior. In all, nine workers lost their lives on constructions sites last year, including three in Brooklyn. (Brooklyn Paper)
