Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

1. On June 12, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a 41-year-old woman was walking near 57th Street and Eighth Avenue in Sunset Park when two persons rolled up behind her riding a scooter and grabbed her handbag, police said. The woman suffered injuries as she was violently pulled to the pavement. She was taken to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition, police said. 2. Federal officers have spent nearly a week searching for a possible loaded gun that had been smuggled into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park. Still, no weapon found. The search remains ongoing. (Subscription: New York Daily News)
