Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

1. Ricky Vidal, 23, allegedly shoved a, 24-year-old victim on the northbound N train platform in Sunset Park’s 59th Street station Friday morning, police sources said. On Monday, Vidal was arrested for assaulting a 73-year-old man and two police officers. Incredibly, Vidal was released without bail. (New York Post )
2. A woman was choked and sexually assaulted in a Downtown Brooklyn apartment after she refused to engage in sexual intercourse with the suspect. Late on Thursday night, the suspect walked with the victim into the apartment building, and began to choke her to the point of unconsciousness. The attacker is known to be 27 years old, and goes by the name "Todd." The victim was treated at a local hospital while the suspect fled after stealing $600 and the woman's cell phone. (NBC New York)
3. A man was arrested on Thursday for his involvement with an Aug. 16, 2021, shooting on DeKalb Avenue. Andrew Simpson, 24, allegedly opened fire, injuring eight people. The suspect was arrested and charged with eight counts of attempted murder and one count of reckless endangerment. (AMNY)
