- Frank R. James, the lone shooter in the Sunset Park subway incident, documented his travels from Wisconsin to the Northeast in a series of YouTube videos in recent weeks. The videos include rambling racist speeches and language directed at mental health treatment, and clear references to violence. The videos have since been removed from YouTube. (CNN)
- Crown Heights residents have filed a lawsuit hoping to overturn the approval of a new development project at the Hebron Church site. The Sterling Place Block Association believes the development would infringe upon the 1889 historic site. The project was approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission after a series of presentations, design modifications, and reductions in height. (Brooklyn Paper)
- New York City Schools are expanding its Gifted & Talented Programs to every school district, adding over 1,000 new seats, Mayor Eric Adams announced. Kindergarten students will no longer have to take a test to get into the Gifted Program, the program will now be recommended by their teacher. (New York City Patch)
