  1. Today marks the start of enforcement of a vaccine mandate for New York City workers, and 26,000 of them didn't make the cut. They now face unpaid time off. About 19,000 got a jab since De Blasio announced the mandate on October 20th. (Gothamist)
  2. Speaking of COVID-19 vaccinations, major discrepancies remain between the rates in different neighborhoods. Sunset Park has the highest vaccination rate in Brooklyn, at 96%, while neighboring Borough Park is at a meager 48%. (AM New York)
  3. Larry Racioppo, a Sunset Park native, shares photos from New York City Halloweens past. (Buzzfeed)
  4. New York City public school enrollment is down by 1.9%, or about 64,000 students, according to recently released numbers. The drop has to do with a variety of factors: the pandemic, families opting for private or charter schools, and even a declining birth rate. (The City via Patch)
