Here are the top stories today in Sunset Park:

  1. Monday saw lots of vaccine pop-up sites outside of public schools across the city. But in many locations the demand far outweighed the available supply, with one school requesting 200 doses and only receiving 50. Here's where to get your child vaccinated. (New York Daily News)
  2. Would you like to get your child vaccinated but are unable to take time off while they recover from the side effects? Mayor De Blasio is announcing that parents of vaccinated children may be eligible for more paid sick leave. (NYC Patch)
  3. A new report finds that nearly 100,000 NYC public school students are homeless — or close to 1 in 10 — the vast majority of whom are Black or Hispanic. That's an overall decrease from past years, but might also be accounted for by many students having left the school system entirely. (The City)
