Here are the top stories in Sunset Park today:

  1. Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn announced that it has received $1.5 million in funding for its offshore wind training program. This comes after, in January, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) approved a proposal to allow the semi-dormant South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Sunset Park to be used as a hub for building wind-power equipment. (Brooklyn Eagle)
  2. The MTA is considering implementing "fare capping" with its new OMNY virtual train pass system. That would mean that, after riders take a certain amount of train rides, they won't have to pay for the rest of the month. (NYC Patch)
  3. Trash is piling up in New York City streets, according to recent photos and 311 complaints. That's after sanitation workers launched a protest against the city's new vaccine mandate, set to go into effect today at 5 p.m. (Gothamist)
