2 Nassau Men Die While Shoveling Snow
Police say both men suffered heart failure while shoveling out from the snow storm.
SYOSSET, NY — Two men in Syosset died Saturday while shoveling snow, Nassau County police said.
The first person, police said, was a 75-year-old man who collapsed while shoveling in front of his home on Barbara Drive at 2:34 p.m. The Syosset Fire Department responded, performed CPR on the man and took him to North Shore Syosset Hospital. He was pronounced dead by doctors at 3:09 p.m.
The second death occurred later that day. Police say a 53-year-old man was found lying on his back in the snow, with a shovel next to him, in front of his Belmont Circle home at 10:38 p.m. The Syosset Fire Department responded and took him to North Shore Syosset Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:19 p.m. by doctors.
