Fight Cancer In Syosset By Eating Steak, Drinking Margaritas
The five-day event, planned this month, will be held at a Syosset restaurant.
SYOSSET, NY — A five-day fundraiser is planned this month to raise money for an organization dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma. The fundraiser will begin Sunday at the George White restaurant on Berry Hill Road and run through Thursday, Feb. 27.
The restaurant will offer specials during that time, including a $5 kids meal that will be available to buy with an adult entrée. All proceeds from the kids meals will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of Stephanie Yormack and Amanda Smith's Student of the Year campaign.
Yormack and Smith are trying to raise awareness for 10-year-old Brandon Bloom, who is in remission after being diagnosed with blood cancer.

Yormack told Patch in a statement that she and Smith have an opportunity to save lives and help people like Brandon.
"We have aggressive goals for this campaign, but we think that is what is needed," Yormack said. "We are inviting everyone to be a part of this record-breaking campaign, and together we are going to literally save lives."
