Their standout records and tournament medals helped power Syosset to a Long Island title and set high expectations for another strong campaign. 
• Home Depot theft ring: Manooj Heeralall, of Baldwin, gets up to 4 years in prison (newsday.com) — Syosset shoppers should know a Baldwin man has been sentenced to up to four years in prison for running a theft ring that repeatedly hit Home Depot stores, including the Syosset location. Prosecutors say crews stole tens of thousands of dollars in electrical supplies and other goods, which were later shipped overseas for resale.
• Lake Sebago Beach Reconstruction Progress (einpresswire.com) — A Syosset-based construction management firm, LiRo, is playing a key role in a $95.8 million project to rebuild Lake Sebago Beach at Harriman State Park, slated to start in spring 2026. The state-funded effort will restore swimming, add new recreation amenities, improve storm resiliency, and incorporate green infrastructure like solar panels and EV charging as part of Governor Hochul’s NY SWIMS initiative.
