Firefighters Find Burning Smell At Syosset Public Library
Firefighters were called to the library late Monday for a fire alarm.

SYOSSET, NY — An electrical issue prompted firefighters to respond to the Syosset Public Library on Presidents Day. Around 9:30 p.m. Monday, the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the library on South Oyster Bay Road after an automatic fire alarm blared.
Crews searched the building and smelled something burning in a bathroom. The alarm was upgraded to a general alarm and crews checked the heating, air conditioning and ventilation system on the roof, as well as the rest of the library. They determined it was an isolated electrical issue in the bathroom and shut off power to the area.
Below is a photo roundup of the response.
