House Fire In Nassau Leaves Homeowner Injured

Investigators are looking into a fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in Old Brookville.

OLD BROOKVILLE, NY — Investigators are looking into a fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in Old Brookville.

Old Westbury police arrived to heavy smoke billowing out of the Michaels Lane home around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The Old Westbury Fire Department, with the help of multiple other local fire departments, extinguished the flames and smoke, police said. A total of 35 firefighters battled the blaze.

During the incident, the male homeowner was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation and an injury to his right leg. No one else was hurt.
