SYOSSET, NY —All of the Nassau County Legislature seats were up for grabs Tuesday and only one incumbent lost.

As for Lafazan, 29, who was seeking his fourth term in the legislature, is the youngest-ever member of the body, when, at 23, he was elected in 2017. In 2012, when Lafazan was only 18, he became one of the youngest to win office in the state's history when he was elected to the Syosset School Board.

Lafazan lost in the Democratic primary for Congress last year which, ultimately, would be won by George Santos. Lafazan has since announced he's running again for 3rd Congressional District in 2024. It's not clear if Tuesday's result will impact that.
