SYOSSET, NY — In light of the Supreme Court ruling, lawmakers across the state are seeking common ground for where gun owners can carry their concealed weapons.

Nassau County Legislator, and congressional candidate, Joshua Lafazan, is adding his thoughts to the controversial topic.

He is proposing a ban on guns at county locations after "the Supreme Court absolutely made the wrong decision in overturning New York's law," Lafazan, a guest on Tuesday's "Patch AM," said.

Without having to show good cause for carrying a gun, based on the Supreme Court ruling last week, "it makes everyone less safe," Lafazan said.

Lafazan's bill calls for guns banned on county properties that include Nassau Community College, on NICE buses and at county beaches and parks.

"Imagine your student is on Nassau Community College's campus. Having concealed carry without good cause makes that student's life very dangerous," Lafazan said.
