Man Drinking In Hotel Parking Lot Had Loaded Gun: Nassau Police

WOODBURY, NY — A man with a loaded gun was arrested outside of a hotel in Woodbury Thursday night, police said.

Nassau County police officers saw a man sitting in a parked car in the parking lot of the Best Western Hotel, located at 7940 Jericho Turnpike, just after 10 p.m. The man was drinking from a can of beer as officers approached, police said.

The officers investigated the man, and police said the found a loaded handgun. Police arrested Eric Headley, who was living at the hotel, without incident.

Headley is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
