Masked Men Try To Break Into Nassau Vehicle, Home: Police

Police are investigating an attempted break-in that happened early Thursday at a Nassau home.

SYOSSET, NY — Police are investigating an attempted break-in that happened early Thursday at a Syosset home.

The 45-year-old homeowner was awoken by a loud noise around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, police said. The house is on Circle Drive.

The man walked downstairs and saw two masked males dressed in black running across his backyard and flee.

The man ran outside and saw the duo flee in a dark four-door sedan with tinted windows, police said. The car sped away from the scene.

Investigators determined the suspects walked up the driveway and tried to open the doors of a locked vehicle. The suspects then entered the backyard, tried to enter the home through a locked sliding glass door, then damaged a basement window, causing the loud noise.

The suspects did not enter the victim's vehicle or home, and nothing appeared to be missing.
