More Than 2,000 LIers Without Power; 69 MPH Wind Gust Recorded
Near hurricane-force winds are whipping Long Island. See the latest wind gust reports and where power outages are hitting the hardest.

More than 2,000 PSEG Long Island customers are without power Monday afternoon as near hurricane-force wind gusts lash the region.
The North Shore in Nassau and western Suffolk is getting hit the hardest with power outages. A wind gust of 66 mph was recorded in Bayville early Monday. The highest wind gust, though, so far has been way out east with a 69 mph gust recorded in Orient.
A high wind warning remains in effect until 6 p.m.
