Obituary:​ James Alber Lovell, of Woodbury, Dies at 93

Died: February 25, 2017

Visitation: Wednesday, March 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Beney Funeral Home on 79 Berry Hill Road in Syosset

Service: Thursday, March 2 starting at 9:45 a.m. at the St. Edward Confessor RC Church on 205 Jackson Avenue in Syosset.

Obituary: James Alber Lovell, of Woodbury and formerly of Syosset, passed away on Saturday. Feb. 25. He was 93.

James earned his graduate degree in engineering from the University of Michigan. He always loved his work, especially his work with NASA on the space shuttle's landing system.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores. The two traveled to all seven continents together.

In addition, he is survived by his five sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Susan, David and Maureen, Jeffery and Beth, John and Patricia, and Peter and Donna as well as his grandchildren Dylan, Kristen, Nora, Lea, Adam, Emily, and Robert

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Catherine.

Burial will take place at St. Margaret's Cemetery in Plainview.

Charitable contributions may be donated to the Medical Mission Sisters, Fox Chase, PA or St. Edward's Parish.
