Oyster Bay Holding Youth Dek Hockey League This Autumn
Registration is coming for the hockey league, which is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14.

TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NY — Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that the Town's Dek Hockey League will return for the fall season. The league will kick off this September and is open to boys and girls aged 6-14.
Dek hockey is a variation of traditional ice hockey, where the games are played sans skates on the "dek" of an ice rink after the ice has melted away for the season. The season will feature 10 games and practices over a 10-week period concluding with a playoff competition.
"Boys and girls aged 6-14 who are enrolled in the town's Youth Dek Hockey League will have a great opportunity to not only improve their hockey skills, but to also learn important life lessons like good sportsmanship from our talented and dedicated coaching staff," Saladino said. "Dek hockey is a really fun variation of traditional ice hockey, and I am excited for the boys and girls of our town who will give this program a try!"
