• Northwell nurses strike looms as negotiation talks continue (newsday.com) — Nurses at Northwell’s Syosset Hospital, along with Plainview and Huntington, could go on strike as early as Monday over what they call unsafe staffing ratios and heavy workloads. The nurses’ union and Northwell are still bargaining, with the health system insisting patient care remains safe while it activates contingency staffing plans that could affect how Syosset residents receive hospital care.
   

• Drunk Bar Owner Ran Over Pedestrian, Left Victim Fighting For Life In Oyster Bay: DA (dailyvoice.com) — A Syosset man is facing serious charges after prosecutors say he struck a pedestrian in Oyster Bay last May, then drove home to Syosset, where police later found his truck. The victim suffered major injuries, and the defendant has pleaded not guilty while being held on a substantial bond.
