Deputy, Son Dead; Mother Injured After Shooting In Clay: Report

An Onondaga County Sheriff's Office deputy also died in a shooting at his family's home on the Oneida River.

CLAY, NY —An Onondaga County sheriff’s deputy and his son are dead following a Monday shooting at their home on the Oneida River, according to a report by Syracuse.com. The shooting also left the deputy's wife in critical condition.

Isaac Eames, 48, died Monday morning during a shooting at 4410 Riverview Rd., Syracuse.com reported. County records obtained by the publication showed the property was owned by Earnes. His son, Troy Earnes, 21, was also shot and died at Upstate University Hospital on Monday afternoon.

Karen Eames, 46, currently is in critical condition, an Upstate University Hospital spokesperson told Syracuse.com.

Police have not identified who opened fire on the family; however, the shooting did not appear to be random.

The Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Attorney General’s office are assisting with the investigation.
