Syracuse plans ‘clanker system' to stop trucks from hitting Park Street bridge (syracuse.com) — Syracuse plans to install a $500,000 “clanker system” on Park Street to warn over-height trucks before they slam into the low CSX railroad bridge, which has been struck dozens of times in recent years. The city expects state CHIPS funds to reimburse the cost and hopes to have the system operating by late 2026 after coordinating with DOT, OCWA and CSX.
