TARRYTOWN/SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — If you’re like many of your Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.
Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

Here are 15 local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:
- Community Food Pantry of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow: "To address food insecurity amongour Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow neighbors."
- Family Services of Westchester (Purchase hq, White Plains, Katonah, Hastings-on-Hudson, Mount Vernon, Pelham, Port Chester, Sleepy Hollow, White Plains, Yonkers): "provides mental health and social services that strengthen and support families, children and individuals at every stage of their lives."
- The Family YMCA at Tarrytown: "The Family YMCA at Tarrytown is more than a building; we are an organization that provides services for adults, families and children in need. We offer early childcare, school-age care, enrichment programs and virtual fitness programs regardless of the ability to pay."

- Kids Club of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow: "Kids' Club is in our 15th year and has donated over $1,500,000 to programs supporting underserved children in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown.
