A very flattering NY Times article came out last week, flush with compliments for our community and its booming small-business scene.
Thriving businesses -- which mostly gravitate to a central hub on upper Main Street and just around the corner on North Broadway -- are in flux but seem to be demonstrating an upward growth cycle. Vacant spaces, for the most part, get snapped up fast.

Nine Street New York is busy moving into the former Nu Toy Store space, with an opening date set for July 17. Behind the now-papered windows is a mother-daughter duo from Holland, offering up a mix of furnishing, textiles and vintage finds.

We're located at 36½ Main Street in Tarrytown, along the Hudson River just north of New York City. Easy to get to and lovely to wander through, Tarrytown has a bustling downtown comprised of independent restaurants and retailers that's reminiscent of the Negen Straatjes, a vibrant neighborhood in the capital of our native Holland that we love so much, it inspired our name.

Almost unbelievably, after a two-year wait, the former Tarrytown Gourmet reportedly has a new tenant, as long-time building owner Edward Coco told the NY Times.
Coco would not disclose any particulars on the $20,000-plus/per month, 20-year lease, beyond that it was taken by a regional chain, and something Tarrytowners would be happy with. Anyone want to place a wager on who this might be?
Finally, in the Stop and Shop complex at the edge of Elmsford, there's a nail spa opening next to Destination Wines & Liquor, as apparently, there's also more room for a nail spa.
