Community Wardrobe Accepting Clothing Donations In Tarrytown

Cold weather clothing for the whole family, including winter coats and warm boots, is what is wanted.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Clothing donations are needed in Tarrytown by the Horsemen PTA.

The Community Wardrobe is accepting donations in anticipation of its November 2022 shopping days, starting Friday, Nov. 4.

Organizers said they are collecting all cold weather clothing for the whole family, including winter coats and warm boots.

They are looking for the following items:

  • Warm coats and snow pants, all ages and sizes
  • Toiletries: unopened travel toothpaste, freebies from dentists, shampoos, etc.
  • Period products
  • Men’s small and medium-sized clothing
  • Women’s dresses and skirts, for fall/winter
  • Teen (cold weather) clothing: boys and girls

Organizers said people shouldn’t donate anything that is torn (except jeans), stained, dirty or smoke-scented. They said, if you wouldn’t give it to a friend, don’t give it to us.

Donations can be brought to Shames JCC on Hudson, 371 South Broadway in Tarrytown during the following times:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 26 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 27 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 28 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 2 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 3 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
