In 2022, the falcons were able to lay and hatch four eggs.
The location of the nest is ideal for peregrine falcons. They can hunt for food from the high spot, reaching speeds of more than 200 mph in a controlled dive.
The Thruway Authority people should understand when watching the falcons that they are wild animals, and what happens in the nest reflects what happens in nature. Some of the birds’ actions may be unpleasant to watch, and it is possible that some of the fledglings may not survive into adulthood.
