Dates Set For Annual 'Lyndhurst In Bloom' Flower Show

TARRYTOWN, NY — The annual Lyndhurst in Bloom flower show will open the season the weekend of April 20-21 in Tarrytown.

Lyndhurst in Bloom includes major floral art installations and an expanded slate, with a members-only preview event Friday, April 19.

The show will offer a fresh twist on a traditional flower show, transforming the Lyndhurst mansion and grounds into a contemporary celebration of all things floral, according to a spokesperson.

Visitors will experience a wonderland of color and texture waking through the mansion’s three floors without a guided tour.

Twenty floral artists will have expansive designs on display throughout the mansion and, for the first time, the grounds. Renowned sculptor Nick Cave will also have a work from his recent Guggenheim exhibition on view paired with a complementary floral installation by Cape Lily. Weekend activities include floral superstars Frances Palmer and Lindsey Taylor discussing their latest books, and demonstrations on sustainable floristry and floral design with TJ McGrath and Trish O’Sullivan where visitors can enter to win the final arrangements. The Spring Market will feature a curated collection of more than 30 vendors offering plants, flowers, and gardening-related items. Visitors can learn about Lyndhurst’s rock garden and historic trees with free walking tours, then grab a bite to eat at a pop-up café by Geordanes of Irvington. Full details can be found here.

“Lyndhurst in Bloom is a unique way to experience Lyndhurst, allowing visitors to see beautiful floral art, walk through the mansion, tour the grounds, and participate in some wonderful activities,” says Howard Zar, executive director of Lyndhurst. “Whether this is your first time at Lyndhurst or you’re one of our neighbors, there is something for everyone. We look forward to welcoming you.”

When: Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (market and café close at 5 p.m.); Sunday, April 21st from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.)

How much: Adult: $30; Senior, AAA, Military, Student: $28; Youth (ages 6-16): $24; Children (ages 5 and younger): free. Tickets include admission to the Welcome Center tent where the local Spring Market is located, "Walk and Talk" landscape tours and entry into the Mansion. The Lyndhurst in Bloom Preview Party (Members Only) is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19. Refreshments will be served. Active membership is required.
