Explosion at Dobbs Ferry Restaurant, 2 Injuries

The cause of an explosion in the basement of a Dobbs Ferry restaurant that injured two on Tuesday night is under investigation.

The blast occurred around 6:42 p.m. at The Cookery, at 39 Chestnut St. in Dobbs Ferry. Two individuals suffered minor injuries and were transported by the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

There appears to be no structural damage to the restaurant, which was evacuated soon after, authorities said.

The village’s building inspector, Dobbs Ferry Fire Department, Dobbs Ferry Police Department, Westchester County Health Department and Con Edison are currently on the scene.
