Extreme Wind Chills Expected In Parts Of Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service has issued wind chill advisories for temperatures as low as 30 below zero.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — How cold will it get Friday night? So cold that dangerous wind chills are in the forecast as an Arctic cold front out of Canada pushes through the Hudson Valley.
To that end, the National Weather Service has issued wind chill advisories for much of the region.
For Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties, the advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Wind chills as low as 10 below to 30 below zero are expected.
For Orange, Putnam and northern Westchester counties, the advisory is in effect from midnight Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Wind chills from 15 below zero to 20 below zero can be expected.
Only southern Westchester was spared a wind chill advisory. However, there could be wind chills of minus 10 to zero.
The extremely cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
The weather service said caution should be used while traveling. People should wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves.
Overnight temperatures will continue to be in the single digits Saturday night, so more wind chill advisories could be issued.
