Fifth Annual Hudson River Days Festival This Weekend

Celebrate the majestic Hudson River and over a weekend of events up and down the waterway during Hudson River Days. 

The festival—which aims to bring attention to the river’s gorgeous views, the environment, ecology and recreation uses as well as organizations and businesses who work to protect it—includes swimming, sailing, music and art on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.

Municipalities from New York City to Albany will be offering events and activities for the fifth annual Hudson River Days fest.

Here are the events that will be held in Sleepy Hollow, Ossining and Croton:

  • Ferry Sloops will be offering free sails from the guest dock at the Croton Yacht Club on Saturday and Sunday. Click here for details.
  • Teatown Lake Reservation will host the Great Hudson River Estuary Fish County on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join Teatown, Strawtown Art and Garden Studio at the Kathryn W. Davis RiverWalk Center in Sleepy Hollow. Event goers will catch and release fish and other Hudson River creatures to identify and record them. Afterward create art with natural pigments, clay and sandstone from the river.  Call 914-762-2912 x110 to reserve your spot for this event.
  • Feed the chickens, spread fresh chips, gather eggs and hang out with the flock at Teatown’s Cliffdale Farm in Croton-on-Hudson. Children must be 6-year-old and up for this event, which is free for members and $5 for non-members. Call 914-762-2912 x110 to reserve your spot for this event.
