Forever Horsemen: A Heartfelt Goodbye to the Class of 2025
The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns
Sleepy Hollow High School honored its Class of 2025 during a joyful and emotional graduation ceremony on the Harold “Doc” Rasbeck Field on June 20. More than 200 students gathered for the final time as Sleepy Hollow scholars, surrounded by proud families, devoted educators, and friends.
Principal Dr. Deborah Brand opened the ceremony with a heartfelt message, reflecting on the deep bond she feels with the Class of 2025. As the parent of a graduating senior herself, she shared how experiencing milestones alongside this exceptional group of students made their journey all the more meaningful to her.
“The Class of 2025 have exemplified quiet leadership,” said Dr. Brand. “They do not need to flaunt or boast about their excellence — they simply are excellent. Their scholarship, artistry, athleticism, service, activism and character speak for themselves. As a result, they have helped to influence younger students and have impressed our faculty and staff to no end. We know they will achieve great things in the future and cannot wait to hear about the journeys they will take.”

This year’s valedictorian Abigail Bartolacci and salutatorian Ayaka Utsumi shared moving reflections about their time at SHHS, offering encouragement and gratitude as they addressed their classmates. They reminded the audience of how far the class has come — and how ready they are for what comes next.
Among the graduates, many will continue their education in college, while others will embark on journeys through military service, trade programs, or careers — each one setting out on a distinct path shaped by dedication, resilience, and the support of their school and community.
