Greenburgh Police Investigate Firearm Threat At High School

It was determined that the threat was unfounded, but schools were put on alert.

GREENBURGH, NY — Police investigated a possible threat of the use of firearms at a local high school Friday.

The Town of Greenburgh Police Department said, around 12:30 p.m. Friday, it received information about a dispute between two students at Woodlands High School in the Hartsdale part of town.

Due to a statement regarding firearms, police responded out of an abundance of caution, authorities said.

After a short time, it was determined that the threat was not credible.

Woodlands High School was put in a hold-in-place status.

Neighboring Maria Regina High School and the Leffell School were placed in lockout status, but were advised that it could be lifted.

Police said there appears to be no credible threat at this time. The investigation is ongoing by the Greenburgh police.
