Hudson Link Bus Fire On Cuomo Bridge Snarls Traffic, But Passengers Escape Serious Injury
Police say the bus was carrying four passengers when it became engulfed in flames as it was traveling on I-287 south above the Hudson.

TAPPAN ZEE, NY — A commuter bus burst into flames high above the Hudson, bringing traffic to a near standstill this afternoon, but no serious injuries were reported.
Troopers from Troop T in Tarrytown responded to the bus fire around 1:37 p.m. Friday, on the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
Police say a Hudson Link bus carrying four passengers became engulfed in flames as it was traveling south on I-287, across the river.

The passengers and driver were safely evacuated from the bus and transferred to another carrier.
No other vehicles were involved, and no injuries were reported, according to NYSP.

The Pocantico Hills, Tarrytown, Central Nyack and South Nyack fire departments responded to extinguish the fire. Southbound lanes were temporarily shut down for bus removal and traffic was moving in the left lanes.
Once the bus had been removed, all lanes reopened and traffic was moving with residual delays through the late afternoon, according to state police.
