From Colleen Goudie, owner of ShayLuLa on Main Street comes this great news and some photos:
If you walked down Main Street Wednesday, you may have noticed the Village was in the process of getting even prettier! Last fall, a group of Main St merchants formed a group called MAIN STREET MATTERS with the initial focus of getting beautiful circular metal hanging baskets of flowers affixed to EVERY lamp post on Main Street. Through AMAZING support and donations from The Village of Tarrytown, many local residents and our fellow business owners in Tarrytown - mission accomplished! These baskets will stay up through the fall season and the specific plants will continue to grow and drape down creating a beautiful cascade of color as you walk through town. The Village has kindly agreed to water these plants weekly for which we are so grateful. As you will see in the pictures, it takes a community to get things done in this, "one of the prettiest towns" in America!
