Metro-North Railroad Adds Getaway Trains, Changes Labor Day Schedule

There will be extra trains on two of the lines, as well as additional ferry service.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — For people going away for the weekend, Metro-North Railroad will add three early-getaway trains on the Hudson Line and two extra trains on the Harlem Line Friday.

Two earlier ferry crossings will operate on the Haverstraw-Ossining route, and three earlier crossings will operate on the Newburgh-Beacon route.

On the Hudson Line, the extra Poughkeepsie express trains departing Grand Central Terminal (GCT) will be at 1:18 p.m. and 2:18 p.m., stopping at Harlem-125 St, Croton-Harmon and all stations to Poughkeepsie. An extra Croton-Harmon local train will depart GCT at 1:50 p.m., stopping at all stations to Croton-Harmon.

On the Harlem Line, there is one extra express train to White Plains and Southeast departing GCT at 1:16 p.m., stopping at Harlem-125 St, White Plains and all stations southeast, and an extra North White Plains local train departing GCT at 1:52 p.m., stopping at all stations to North White Plains.

On Metro-North’s connecting ferry services there will be two earlier crossings on the Haverstraw-Ossining route and three earlier crossings on the Newburgh-Beacon route.
Additional ferries depart Ossining at 3:36 p.m., connecting from the 2:20 p.m. GCT-Croton-Harmon local train and the 2:43 p.m. GCT-Poughkeepsie express train, and at 4:27 p.m., connecting from the 3:21 p.m. GCT-Croton-Harmon local train.

Additional ferries depart Newburgh at 4:19 p.m., connecting from the 2:43 p.m. GCT-Poughkeepsie express train, at 4:49 p.m., connecting from the 3:18 p.m. GCT-Poughkeepsie express train, and at 5:19 p.m., connecting from the 3:48 p.m. GCT-Poughkeepsie express train.

For the remainder of the weekend, Metro-North will operate a normal Saturday schedule Saturday, Sept. 3. It will operate Sunday schedules for Sunday, Sept. 4 and Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5.
