Mondaire Jones Raises $1 Million in Q4 of 2023 for Congressional Run
Out Raises Rep. Lawler for Second Consecutive Quarter, Bringing Total Fundraising to Over $2.1 Million in Off-Year for NY 17 House Campaign

Former Congressman Mondaire Jones has raised more than $2.1 million in the last six months of 2023, garnering $1 million in the fourth quarter, which is among the highest totals of any House challenger this cycle. His campaign committee has over $1.55 million in cash on hand. This is the second consecutive quarter in which Jones substantially out raised freshman Republican Mike Lawler.
"I am thrilled to have raised more than $2.1 million in the off-year of this crucial race to take back the House, save our democracy from Donald Trump and his enabler Mike Lawler in Congress, lower costs, and protect the right to abortion, said Jones. "The Lower Hudson Valley is ready for a restoration of serious and effective representation in Congress, and our grassroots coalition is prepared to defeat Rep. Lawler this year,” Jones added.
“Instead of working on the issues that actually matter to our communities, Lawler, a career political operative and oil and gas lobbyist who worked to elect Donald Trump twice, is focused on political stunts like wasting taxpayer dollars on a baseless impeachment inquiry into President Biden. Lawler should be embarrassed that, under GOP leadership, he is part of the least productive Congress since the Great Depression," Jones noted.

Jones explained he is running to return to Congress to finish the work he started to lower costs for Lower Hudson Valley residents, defend democracy, improve public safety, and stop Republicans from banning abortion. Since launching his campaign in July, 2023, Jones has:
- Out raised Mike Lawler in both quarters
- Earned the support of over 150 local and national endorsers, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, NewDem Action Fund, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC, Equality PAC, the Rockland County Democratic Committee, the Westchester County Democratic Committee, and the Putnam County Democratic Committee
- Helped elect Dr. Dana Stilley, Jesse Malowitz, and Beth Davidson to the Rockland County Legislature to secure the first Democratic supermajority in 30 years
- Supported over 50 candidates in the 2023 elections by launching canvasses, knocking doors with candidates, recruiting volunteers, and headlining fundraisers
- Cleared the primary field and earned the endorsement of Liz Whitmer Gereghty
- Called Out Lawler for supporting a baseless impeachment inquiry into President Biden and “proudly” voting for extreme MAGA Speaker Mike Johnson and campaigning with him in Westchester
- Highlighted Lawler’s votes to cut funding for law enforcement, Israel, access to Social Security, and Head Start
Jones’ fundraising results and support within the district put him in a strong position to take on Lawler in the general election, which Punchbowl News recently wrote was one of top five House races that will determine which party is in power in Congress this cycle. Lawler has been named one of the most vulnerable House Republicans by Daily Kos and Roll Call.
