Nine Streets New York Furnishes Tarrytown's Main Street

  • Correction: Owner Esther de Hollander owns the store with her mother.

Nine Streets New York is the product of Esther de Hollander, de Hollander’s mother and a dream. The two now have a storefront to fill with the home décor and furnishings, vintage pieces and gifts they’ve collected from around the world.

“Lidy amassed old ceramics while Esther collected vintage throws; knickknacks gathered in cupboards while pillows took over closets—until finally, it was time to breathe deep and take the leap,” reads the store’s website.  “Although our tastes may differ, we share a love of mixing old with new, rough with refined, neutral with pops of color, and classic with a touch of humor—the key is finding just the right way to pull it all together.”

Nine Streets New York recently opened at 36½ Main Street in Tarrytown. The mother-daughter duo chose Tarrytown as the place to start their business since the independent businesses remind them of their native Holland in the Negen Straatjes.
