
Longtime Sleepy Hollow resident James M. Cochrane died July 24 at age 97. Cochrane was born in Yonkers on May 21 to James and Margaret Cochrane.
He served in the U.S. Army, and as assistant manager for A&P supermarket until he retired in 1978. An avid golfer, was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Holy Name Society and VFW Post 1939.
His children Barbara, Jean and James; six grandchildren; and his sister Ethel survive him. His wife Ella and sister Margaret pre-decease him.

Visiting is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Coffey Funeral Home Inc. in Tarrytown. The internment will be at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
